HAWMC: Keep Calm & Carry OnPosted: April 9, 2012
For the month of April, I’m participating in the Health Activist Writer’s Month Challenge from Wego Health. Each day I’ll be writing a health-related post based on the HAWMC prompts, aiming to challenge myself as a writer and health activist. Thanks for following!
Today, I have been tasked with creating one of those “Keep Calm & Carry On” posters that seem to keep popping up everywhere these days, especially in London. Instead of completely veering away from the original message, “Keep Calm” seems to be a nice reminder for most people in this modern speedy world, myself included. “Eat Veggies” is not only just a good idea, but may help to keep you calm if you choose magnesium-rich vegetables. Magnesium is known as the calming mineral and is found in abundance in french beans, spinach, collard greens, lettuce, peas, broccoli, asparagus, and avocado. It’s found in plenty of other food sources as well, but green leafies in particular are an excellent way to get your daily dose of magnesium and a whole host of other vitamins and minerals.
So perhaps eating your veggies really will help you to Keep Calm!
